Shelly

This is Shelly's mom, Jean, reporting in for her. She told me this evening to post some information. She is currently in the hospital again, has been there since Monday, with complications from her surgery a few weeks ago. She asks for prayer for her quick recovery, for the kids and Josh at home, and for our angels of mercy Zach and Rachel who have again stepped in to hold down the home front. Shelly and Josh are both having a difficult time dealing with this latest challenge. The why question has popped up. Mostly they are both concerned for kids who need to know life can be "normal." Pray for all of us, OK? We're dependent on those of you who hold us up before a God whose ways we don't always understand.

Josh and Shelly: I'll bet there are thousands of us who've already asked the "why" question for you as we have witnessed you walk through so much tragedy over the past few years. It's okay to ask why. Job did. My heart goes out to you, and if I could come make it all better and take your pain away I would. Come to think of it, God could do that right now too. But He's not choosing to do that.

I was telling one of my boys yesterday that God loves him so much that even if he was the only boy in the whole world who'd sinned and needed saving, Jesus would still have died on the cross...just for him.

God loves you that much too.

Yet in His infinite and incomprehensible wisdom He's having you walk this terribly difficult path. He has a reason. It will work out with blessings in the end.

There are battles being won and lives being saved just because you wake up each morning and carry on despite the pain. You are loved. You are prayed for. I am praying for you.

We have a saying in our church: "Just 5 more minutes." The nutshell version of the story is because someone hung on 5 minutes past when they wanted to give up on something, they were in the right place for the miracle they experienced.

There is much in this world that is too terrible to deal with on our own. Don't let the enemy convince you that you're alone.

You're not.

You're being held up in prayer, even when things are at their darkest.

Just 5 more minutes....

Prayers are going up. God is faithful. A friend recently told me life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass but instead it is about learning to dance in the rain. Praying God's healing, strength and comfort for all of you!
