Back at It!

The momma is back in town!  Today I went to the pain clinic and had an injection of cotizone shots into the effected area. As of right now, the pain is minimal which is a huge blessing. I think they finally have an idea what is going on so that feels reassuring.

Josh and I got married 8 years ago today. We got married on a gorgeous Friday evening in downtown Grand Rapids and rode up to our reception in a horse drawn carriage. It was an evening I'll never forget. Eight years later and still going strong.

Josh has been having a lot of nerve pain the past 24 hours. He was extremely discouraged this morning. He is laying next to me right now, unure of how well he will sleep. Please keep him in your prayers. The nerve pain is very difficult for Josh because it is a burning sensation and their is little he can do about it. Please pray that the Lord continues to uplift his spirits.

My cousin Erin was in town for her wedding shower this weekend. She lives in NYC so I don't get to see her too often and she is like my kindred soul. I love to spend time with her. She is getting married in October and Josh and I are taking a road trip out to the East Coast for the wedding. It was fun to see her and see how the plans are coming. I am hopefully going out in July for a night or two for her personal shower. She has been such a huge support to me and I would like to do the same for her. And, considering I'm her favorite cousin, I'd better be there... just kiddng!

Noah and Zoe are spending this week adjusting to being home. We don't have any big plans. We let them fill up the pool for the first time on Saturday. They loved jumping off the mini trampoline and into the water. Ephram loved watching them! I was hoping to get some pics but have had some trouble locating my camera charger.  Woops. :-)

That's all the exciting news here. Zoe has her first ballet recital on Wednesday so I'll have to post some pics. G and G Buck are coming from Indiana to see her. She is psyched!

Hey! Glad to hear you are feeling a little better! I do remember your wedding, the beautiful hydrangeas, and all the cousins walked up in a line to the $ and kisses basket! (Didn 't Josh pulled you under the table? :), and i think you played a game with toilet paper on the dance floor! I loved the magnets that seem to still be on everyone's fridge! Anyways, Happy Anniversary! Thinking of you all and the fun memories!

I am so happy that you had a successful trip to the pain clinic. I will continue to be in prayer for both of you with pain, and Josh I specifically will be praying that God will help you have a restful and relaxing evening.
Oh and happy anniversary! I hope you have a great time remembering where God has led you, and how he has molded you into the amazing couple you are today! May God continue to bless you both, and may you have the best week this week! I will continue as always to pray for you! Love and Blessings, Lisa Bos

Hey...you had better find that camera charger by the recital tonight! I am dying to see Zoe and Lilly all dressed up in their pricey outfits! Miss you all.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!"

Just returned from Orlando and the Wesleyan General Conference! There were so many little old ladies in buns that I felt like I'd landed back in the 60s. But then the West Michigan district was there to bring us 'up to date'! Your mom said, "Where are all the Josh and Jasons?" True! We needed more youngin's. But I do think a lot was accomplished and good 'memorials' (weird word) passed! Cecil was the delegate and I was the one who HAD to go to the pool every day.

We loved hanging out with your mom and dad and also your aunt and uncle - Ken and Sandy.

I am starting to work on book two in my next historical series, so while Cecil was in sessions I also knocked out most of chapter one.

I continue to pray for you, Josh, and the kids. It was nice to have your mom bring me up to date with all that's going on -- and why you were having the post-surgery nerve pain. Phantom pain? I don't buy it! Glad to hear the shot has given you some relief. Now if only Josh could get that shot of cortisone for HIS nerve pain. Ugh!

Love and many tight hugs...
Shar

I don't want to be identified. I just wanted to share the beautiful words of this song by Mandisa with you in case you have not heard them. I pray that they will uplift you and your family.

Have you ever heard a love song that set your spirit free?

Have you ever watched a sunrise and felt you could not breathe?

What if it’s Him? What if it’s God speaking?

Have you ever cried a tear that you could not explain?

Have you ever met a stranger who already knew your name?

What if it’s Him? What if it’s God speaking?

Chorus:

Who knows how He’ll get ahold of us?

Get our attention to prove He is enough?

He’ll do and He’ll use whatever He wants to

To tell us, “I love you.”

Have you ever lost a loved one who you thought should still be here?

Do you know what it feels like to be tangled up in fear?

What if He’s somehow involved? What if He’s speaking through it all?

Chorus

His ways are higher. His ways are better.

Though sometimes strange

What could be stranger than God in a manager?

Who knows how He’ll get ahold of you?

Get your attention to prove He is enough?

He’ll do and He’ll use whatever he wants to

To tell us, “I love you.”

God is speaking, “I love you.”

Hey Shelly, I never leave notes for anyone, but since you have the craziest life in the world and made time to leave me a note, I really feel it is the least that I can do. You know, I was recently thinking about when I met you with baby Noah for the first time and we had that little sleep over that was totally random in an Indianapolis hotel, haha!! Sorry I don't keep in touch well, I miss you all!! You are all in my thoughts and prayers daily. I think you are amazing!! Hope you are still feeling better. Love you all, Carrie

No postings in what seems like forever! Worries me when you don't post, but understand that it is not always high on your list of priorities anymore. Just wanted you to know that I am still reading your posts, still praying for you all...I was so troubled to read of your recent issues with unresolved pain, Shelly, and am hopeful that your cortisone shot is doing the trick...and Josh, I know there is nothing worse than nerve pain. Hope that has decreased markedly for you. Drove by your house when I was out on my rounds today...it is beautiful! I noticed the covered porch on the side of the garage-that will be a great place for Josh to be outside and watch the kids! Bet you can't wait to move in, and bet you are busy with all the moving in details. Looks like it will soon be move-in-able! Blessings to you all, Susan

Hey there,Bucks!
Wanted to say I got my CD "Sackcloth" a while back and absolutely LOVE it. EXCELLENT job and so moving. Also, the other day I was reading my Bible and the Lord led me to a verse that I sensed was for you two:
Psalm 18:16
"He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of the deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster but the LORD was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place. He rescued me because He delighted in me."
May God continue to bless you and uplift you as you march on. I think of and pray for you daily and am always amazed by your courage and fortitude. May you be blessed abundantly in your new home and I'll pray the move and transition goes smoothly. Hope you are both feeling better. Just know that your testimony is being spread from coast to coast. It seems not a week goes by before I catch myself telling someone new about "Josh and Shelly" and every person reacts similarly. Utter astonishment with a marked curiosity. I typically send them to your website and then God takes over from there. Keep on fighting...God is good ALL the time. :-)
Much love and prayers,
Kristie :)
